About Friday4:30

Yes. Friday4:30 works with members across both the UK and US markets.

No. Friday4:30 runs on a no-seats, no-licences model, so it works whether you're a small family-run producer or a multi-site manufacturer. Every member gets the same level of readiness, whatever their size.

It's named for a very specific, very common problem: bad news tends to land late on a Friday afternoon, exactly when a business has the least capacity to respond well. Friday4:30 exists so that timing never has to be the reason a response goes wrong.

Friday4:30 isn't a QA tool bolted onto a certification. It's built around three principles: Simplicity, Service, and Security, and it's designed for the whole business, not just the people managing compliance paperwork.

Friday4:30 is a platform for CEOs and the whole C-suite, not just a tool for the QA team. Incidents affect every part of a business, so preparedness has to sit at that level too.

Friday4:30 was co-founded by Emma Sykes and her son, Jack Sykes. Emma brings close to thirty years of hands-on experience managing incidents inside FMCG and food manufacturing businesses. Jack leads the platform's technology and product.

Data & Security

Yes. Friday4:30 uses AI technology behind the scenes to help members find answers faster and triage incidents accurately, but it's built to support good judgement, not replace it.

Security sits at the heart of the product, not as an afterthought. Friday4:30 uses the latest available security measures to protect member data.

Only your own team. Friday4:30 doesn't share incident data across member businesses, and there's no visibility into your account from outside your organisation.

Getting Started

Morning Briefing is the easiest way to get a feel for the platform before committing to a full membership, at just £99 a year.

Friday4:30 walks you through it step by step, starting with the three incident buckets: product, business, and industry, so you build a plan around how incidents actually happen, not a generic template.

All plans except Enterprise can be up and running in minutes. We recommend completing onboarding in full at the start rather than coming back to it later, since that's what keeps your information accurate from day one. For a small company that takes around 30 to 45 minutes; for a company with multiple brands, sites, or locations, it can take up to a couple of hours. Enterprise members have onboarding built into their setup.

Just your business details and a willingness to think through your worst day before it happens. Friday4:30 handles the structure.

Membership & Plans

All memberships are annual.

Yes. Members can move between Entry, Core, Pro, and Enterprise as their business needs change.

As many as you need. Friday4:30 runs on a no-seats, no-licences model, so there's no extra cost for adding more people from your team.

Morning Briefing is Friday4:30's entry point: a daily briefing pulling together incident and regulatory data relevant to your business, so you start each day already informed.

Four tiers: Entry, Core, Pro, and Enterprise, each built around the same three-bucket approach to incidents, scaled to the size and complexity of your business.

Because Friday4:30 isn't just software you log into. It's a shared standard of preparedness across an industry, and “member” reflects that you're part of it, not just paying for it.

Preparedness & Incidents

No, and ideally you never will. Friday4:30 is built for businesses that want to be ready before anything happens, not just for those recovering from something that already did.

No. Certifications and preparedness are two different things. A certification tells you what a business wants you to believe. How it responds on its worst day tells you what it's actually like.

No. A recall is just one type of incident. Friday4:30 covers product incidents, business incidents, and industry incidents, the full picture, not just the recall process.

Product or service incidents, business incidents, and industry incidents. Almost everything a food and drink business faces falls into one of these three buckets.

Anything from a product recall to a supply chain failure to a piece of industry-wide news that affects your business. If it needs a fast, considered response, it's an incident.

A certification is a document. Preparedness is what actually happens in the room when something goes wrong. Friday4:30 is built for the second one.

Support

Yes. Everyday support runs online, and if you'd rather talk it through, request a call-back at a time that suits you during the working week. We call you, so there's no cost to you. Human contact and great service are core to how Friday4:30 works, not an afterthought.

Yes. For anything urgent, like a considerable business or product issue, a team member is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so we can be ready to help within 60 minutes.

Use the platform to start your response immediately, and request a call-back if you need a person on the other end. That's exactly what it's there for.

Both the UK and the USA.
